Alaska Photographic Center invites you to enter your photography and participate in Rarefied Light 2013, Alaska’s largest juried photography exhibition.

Sean Kernan a photographer, writer and pioneering teacher is well-known for teaching creativity in photography. He came to photography from theater, and is the author of two monographs, The Secret Books and Among Trees.

He has taught and presented at Parsons School of Design, Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, Maine Media Workshops, and Santa Fe Photographic Workshops.

Sean’s work has been exhibited internationally and won numerous awards. His writing and photography has appeared in The New York Times Magazine, Communication Arts, Graphis, New York, and many others.

We are awarding one workshop attendee a scholarship, the annual Barry McWayne Rarefied Light Workshop Scholarship, established by APC in memory of Barry. To apply for the scholarship, write down a paragraph of why you would like to attend the workshop, and send it to us at
